In recent days (maybe weeks or even months), if you ‘tune in’ to your thoughts, what have these been mostly about? Maybe you wake up in the early hours of the morning, what’s mostly on your mind? What’s been consuming you or ‘what’s got you’?
Please spend some time here, ‘tuning in’
‘Tune in’ also to ‘how’s my love, joy, peace, patience (forbearance), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control?’)
What do we need to ‘die to’ or be emptied of? What idols do we need to get rid of? We become like the idols we serve (Ps 115 ‘Those who make them are like them; so is everyone who trusts in them”). What we fear becomes our god. Where our treasure is there also will our hearts and thoughts also be.
So, ‘what’s got you?’ Go on, call the elephant in the room what it is!
If the answer to any of the following questions is anything or anyone other than God we need to check out who or what we are worshipping? (What has been consuming us? What idols have we been serving?):
- Who created me?
- Whom do I ultimately trust?
- Whom do I look to for ultimate truth?
- Whom do I look to for security and happiness?
- Who is in charge of my future?
The intention here is not to ‘put you down’ in any way, but rather, to increase your awareness so that you can simply ‘be real’ with your Father amd ask Him for His forgiveness and grace to change and transform you. He’s waiting for you in gentle, welcoming, love.
Closing Kingdom thought:
We need to ‘die to self’. We are NOT to be conformed to this world (and its idols of money, popularity, power, pleasure and prestige) but need to be transformed by the renewing of our mind that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Presumably the order here is most important? (Death/surrender(sacrifice)/transformation/renewal/God’s will)
There is no such thing as democracy or compromise in the Kingdom (as there is in the world)
Our only ‘idol’ is the King. Our main, true prayer must be ‘Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done’. The Kingdom is where God’s will is done. Presumably only those who do God’s will are citizens? (Presumably this also entails emptying/dying to self so that He can fill us?)
May THY Kingdom come. May THY will be done!
Shalom to you!
